About
the COG
The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments
is a voluntary association of 42 local governments.
Members include Marion,
Polk, and Yamhill counties, 31 cities, 7 special
districts, and the Confederated Tribes of Grand
Ronde. Click here for a map
of the MWVCOG Service Area in PDF format.
There
are many advantages
of membership, but one of the most valuable
services the COG provides is a "connection point"
for members wanting to interact with similar
local jurisdictions. This forum is an essential
pipeline for information and resources that
can be directed to members. As a network organization,
COG links its members with each other and also
to a broader network within the Oregon planning
and economic development community.
The
MWVCOG's purposes include pooling local resources
to achieve efficiency and economy and to join
together to address issues of common concern.
Member services include economic
and community development, transportation
systems planning , SBA
loans, GIS, mapping
and census services and local government
capacity-building services.
The
MWVCOG is governed by a Board
of Directors which is comprised of elected
officials representing the various member governments.
The Board of Directors sets policy and direction
for the agency and the programs it operates.
The staff of the MWVCOG
see to the day to day operation of projects
and programs and provide assistance to member
governments as requested. Click here for our
staff organizational
chart.
We
publish an Annual
Report of our projects and activities. If
