The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments (MWVCOG) and the Mid-Valley Regional Solutions Team (RST) are asking to be provided with proposed 2020-2022 projects based upon the following criteria. Additional details and the project solicitation form are available HERE.
The purpose of the project solicitation is two-fold:
- The Economic Development Administrationis soliciting EDA CARES Act projects that will help eligible partners “prevent, prepare for, and respond to economic injury as a result of the coronavirus”. As outlined HERE, EDA CARES Act funding can provide technical assistance to retain existing and hire new employees; provide a range of skills-training and workforce development projects to help employees compete for high-quality jobs; construct public works and facilities that will support economic recovery; and develop and implement strategies to diversify regional economics to create jobs in new or existing industries.
EDA CARES Act funds may be awarded toward capital improvements and/or planning projects but must be awarded and expended no later than September 30, 2022.
- The Regional Solutions Advisory Committee(RSAC) and RST members are seeking to identify projects to prepare our region for state and federal opportunities over the next two fiscal years. The regional list could include projects identified under the EDA criteria above and/or projects seeking resources and assistance in FY 2020-22. The regional list could include affordable housing and workforce development, infrastructure, broadband, rail, and other capital improvement projects. In addition, public/private collaboration and projects serving underrepresented communities are encouraged.
